Research areas
Grounded in organizational behavior, I study organizational commitment, occupational commitment, extra-role behavior, and the management of professional work.
I am especially interested in how professionals such as pharmacists, nurses, and care workers reconcile commitment to their organization with commitment to their occupation, and how they build everyday work and relationships with others.
I am also expanding my research to include changes in work and roles brought by generative AI, and to connections between university education and external communities.

Graduate study
I supervise research students and master’s students in the Graduate School of Business Administration at Osaka University of Economics. International students are welcome. Supervision centers on organizational behavior, the management of professional work, extra-role behavior, and workplace learning.

Current interests
Organizational and occupational commitment among professionals
Professionals are members of organizations while also holding strong responsibility toward their work and occupation. I treat “how one relates to the organization” and “how one relates to the work” as distinct dimensions, and examine how differences and tensions appear—and how organizations can support people through them.
Running study groups and communities
I also organize study groups and communities that connect research and education with practice.
